Originally from sun-drenched Portugal, I’ve been living in the UK since 2016, soaking up its charm, quirks, and constant surprises. By day, I work as a dental nurse; by heart, I’m a storyteller, daydreamer, and lifelong learner.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me wandering the streets of London, with wide eyes and a sense of wonder—there’s always something new to discover.
My partner and I are passionate about travel, and together we’ve made a habit of turning every journey into an adventure. From navigating foreign subway systems to attempting to speak languages that may or may not exist, our adventures are a blend of excitement, confusion, and and the kind of laughter that makes your belly ache.
We love recharging by the sea, getting lost in nature, and at home, you’ll often find him tending to his beehives while I admire the bees from a safe, respectful distance – better safe than stung!
Portugal is never far from my heart—especially with my daughter living there with her husband. We may be miles apart, but daily video calls keep us close (and sometimes feel like an episode of our very own family soap opera). The times we’re together are the kind you tuck away in your heart forever.
Books are my escape, music is my mood-lifter, and car rides are often transformed into full-blown private concerts—until I hit a red light and realise the drivers next to me are staring in stunned silence as I belt out 80s power ballads like I’m headlining Wembley. I’m a lover of live music, gripping mysteries, and those films that leave you thinking long after the credits roll.
Why I Started This Blog
Like so many women, I’ve spent years juggling roles—nurturer, caregiver, fixer, supporter—until I realised I was slowly losing touch with myself. Menopause hit like a plot twist I didn’t see coming, and suddenly, I was re-evaluating everything: my identity, my purpose, my joy.
That moment of reflection became the spark behind Life, Love & Other Shenanigans—a space where we can talk honestly, laugh freely, and explore life beyond labels.
Here, we embrace the highs, the lows, the messy middles, and the big, beautiful dreams. It’s about real conversations, shared wisdom, unapologetic joy, and a reminder that it’s never too late to show up for yourself and live fully.
