My partner and I are self-proclaimed travel enthusiasts, we cherish the thrill of discovering new places and immersing ourselves in diverse cultures. We’re the dynamic duo that turns every trip into an adventure. From navigating foreign subway systems to attempting to speak languages that may or may not exist, our adventures are a blend of excitement, confusion, and a dash of accidental comedy. Relaxing by the sea or wandering in nature recharges our batteries, and at home, he’s a devoted beekeeper. I’ve been learning about the fascinating world of bees, always from a safe distance – better safe than stung!
Portugal is always in my heart as my daughter resides there with her husband. Grateful for technology, the daily virtual moments bridge the distance, often turning our virtual catch-ups into a delightful soap opera. The times we get to be together are cherished like rare treasures.
As a self-confessed coffee addict, my day wouldn’t start without my espresso – my secret superpower for tackling the day ahead.
A dedicated bookworm, I find solace in enchanting literary worlds, and my passion for music often turns car rides into private concerts (luckily unheard by other drivers!). Live concerts, a good film, or mystery shows are my preferred ways to unwind.
Amidst the whirlwind of menopause and the relentless juggling act of being there for everyone, I found myself losing sight of my own needs and identity. Recognizing that women are often perceived solely through roles—mother, daughter, wife, caregiver—I yearned for a space to share more.
Thus, ‘Life, Love & Other Shenanigans’ was born. This blog is my refuge, a safe space to unravel life’s complexities, from struggles to triumphs, dreams to bucket lists.
