Nestled along the beautiful coast of Portugal, Troia emerges as a haven of tranquillity, where the Troia Design Hotel stands out with modern luxury and privileged location.

Set against the backdrop of the stunning Arrábida Natural Park and surrounded by culinary delights, Troia promises an enchanting escape.

Let’s embark on a journey through this coastal paradise, from the captivating Arrábida beaches to the gastronomic wonders of Sesimbra where you can enjoy the yummiest fresh fish and seafood and the unspoiled beauty of Comporta and the Alentejo coast.

Troia Design Hotel: Where Modern Luxury Meets Coastal Bliss

Your retreat begins at the Troia Design Hotel, where contemporary elegance meets coastal serenity. This Hotel is amazing, the rooms are spacious and settling in the balcony admiring the sunset over the sea is a must. Has plenty of outdoor sunbeds by the swimming pools and if the weather decides to play tricks on you, no worries as they have 2 inside pools (thank goodness for that as it rained nonstop for a day while we were there).

Plenty of restaurants around the hotel to enjoy typical Portuguese food. Our favourites where Adega de Patiscos and Oficina da Carne.

Arrábida Natural Park: A Nature Lover’s Dream

Embark on a short ferry ride to explore the Arrábida Natural Park, a haven of lush landscapes and pristine beaches. Standout among them is Galapinhos Beach, nestled within a picturesque cove, offering clear turquoise waters and golden sands. It’s a slice of paradise perfect for unwinding and basking in the natural beauty.

Sesimbra’s Seafood Extravaganza: A Culinary Journey

Venture to Sesimbra, a charming fishing town renowned for its delectable seafood. Indulge in a gastronomic journey along the waterfront, savouring the freshest catches of the day. From grilled sardines to succulent seafood rice dishes, Sesimbra delights the palate with the flavours of the ocean.

Comporta Beach: A Tranquil Retreat

Mandatory on your itinerary is a visit to Comporta Beach, where miles of pristine sands meet the Atlantic Ocean. In high season, relish the opportunity for horse rides along the beach, adding an unforgettable touch to your Portuguese experience.

We ate in a small, family run, pretty restaurant in Comporta village called Sabores da Comporta.

Exploring the Alentejo Coast: Porto Covo and Zambujeira do Mar

If time permits, venture further along the Alentejo coast to discover iconic places like Porto Covo and Zambujeira do Mar. Porto Covo charms with its picturesque harbor and historic atmosphere, while Zambujeira do Mar captivates with its dramatic cliffs and unspoiled beauty.

Coastal Tranquility: Porto Côvo’s Charm

Porto Côvo, a small fishing village, is a hidden gem along the Alentejo coast. Stroll through its charming streets, relax on the beach, and relax with the serene ambiance that defines this coastal retreat.

Zambujeira do Mar: A Coastal Gem

Zambujeira do Mar, perched atop rugged cliffs, offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic. Immerse yourself in the laid-back atmosphere, explore the coastline, and witness the sun setting over the ocean – a spectacle that paints the sky in hues of orange and pink.

As your holiday in Troia unfolds, each moment becomes a treasure – from the tranquillity of Troia to the natural wonders of Arrábida and the culinary delights of all the surrounding area. Venture further to Comporta and the Alentejo coast, where unspoiled landscapes and charming villages invite exploration.
